Regular readers of The Pop Culture Studio might notice a few changes this month which should hopefully improve your experience on the site.
For starters, I’ve given every single post a make-over, so that each article now features images or videos to support the text (why tell, when I can show?), not to mention make things a little easier on the eye!
I’ve also revamped the site menu (accessed via the handy hamburger menu in the top right corner of the screen). You can now search the site using your own search terms (as well as by category and by month), easily access the most popular posts, and view The Studio’s most recent tweets, all from this menu.
But most importantly, the About page has been restored to the site, and can be found at the top of the menu. This page is back not quite by popular demand, but it was certainly something readers have asked about since it disappeared earlier this year when the website theme changed. I’ve updated the text on this page, so even long time readers might want to check it out, especially those who would like to know a little more about me!
But enough technical jibber-jabber; what you really want to know is what articles you can expect from The Pop Culture Studio over the next few weeks. Well, while June might have been a good month for the site (the Batman Forever article clocked up just under 10,000 views over on MoviePilot!), I can safely say that July is looking even bigger!
There’s heaps planned this month, including the next in The Studio’s series of Star Wars articles, but best of all is a new feature in the works which is easily the most exciting thing I’ve attempted since the site kicked off at the end of last year (I’d love to say more, but I don’t want to spoil the surprise, especially if the post is delayed until August!).
My own creative efforts also continue on, and although I’ve moved away from committing to deadlines with pop culture I’m creating myself, fingers crossed, I might at least be able to share some sketches with you before next month rolls around (although I do need to buy a new desk first…).
That’s all from me this month, but I’d love to hear from you guys (either in the comments below, or on Twitter and Facebook) – What would you like to see me write about this month? What do you think of the enhanced site? What’s on your mind generally? Let me know!
