Noticeboard: September 2015

September marks 12 months since The Pop Culture Studio launched – at the end of this month, The Studio will be celebrating its first anniversary! As exciting as this is, there should still be plenty to keep you occupied before the champagne is popped in four weeks’ time, with loads of great articles planned between now and then.

For starters, the latest industry Q&A post has already gone live on the site. This month, I had the chance to shoot the breeze with novelist, screenwriter and comic book scribe Jason Starr about different storytelling mediums, the secret to writing good noir and more. Many thanks to Jason for being so generous with his time.

The December release date for The Force Awakens continues to edge ever closer, and you can rely on The Studio’s series of Star Wars-themed articles to help pass the time. Fortunately, if Star Wars isn’t your thing (who are you?!), there’s a variety of other posts planned which should hopefully take your fancy.

One last thing – you’ll notice a new social media icon at the top of the page. That’s because The Pop Culture Studio is now on Instagram, so you can check out any sketches I do (and there are a few up already), plus any pop culture-related photos I take, by following this account.

Nothing more from me for now, but as always, the floor is open to you guys to reach out to me (either in the comments below, or on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram). What do you want to see more of? Do you have a favourite bit of pop culture that you’d like me to write about? Let me know!
